Keeping you healthy with Well Child Visits
At Cary, Fuquay-Varina and Apex Pediatrics, we do more than just help your children when they are sick; we help them, and your whole family stay well.
The most important (and most enjoyable) way we do this is to see you for a series of Well Child Visits. We will monitor the growth and development of your child or adolescent, answer any questions or concerns you may have, and provide a series of important vaccinations that help prevent serious illnesses and even save lives.
At each visit we will provide you with a handout of important information that is specific to your child’s age and development. You will receive a hard copy with their growth documented in the office but you can also download them here.
Remember, well care is required by all insurances to be covered. Please bring your insurance card to all visits. Thank you!
Our typical well visit schedule is 3 days old, 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 years, 2.5 years, 3 years, and annually until 21 years old.
Translation services
At Cary, Fuquay-Varina and Apex Pediatrics, we offer translation services. We have interpreters in each office for Spanish speaking patients. If other languages are needed, then we have access to interpretation using a secure telephone service.
Caring for a Sick Child
Our staff realizes how hard it is to have a sick child at home. We make sick care appointments available each day to allow your child, whenever possible, to be seen the day you are worried.
If your child is sick, please call our office night or day. We have nurses on call 24/7 with doctor back-up to help you decide what to do.
During our office hours there is no fee for this service.
When our offices are open, we would always prefer that you contact our office for care for your child. If we however are closed, there are two pediatric-specific urgent cares in our area. PM Pediatrics has partnered with WakeMed and have opened two offices that are available from noon to midnight 7 days a week, with an office in Morrisville, and in the Crossroads area of Cary. They can also perform many of the things an emergency room can do, like evaluate for fractures, help with breathing problems, and evaluate wounds for stitches.
Refills & Referrals
If you need to request a medication refill or a referral to a specialist, please send us a message using the patient portal or call our office.
Hospitals
We prefer Wake Med Raleigh-New Bern for Emergency Department evaluation and for when admissions are necessary because of their extensive pediatric services. Their skilled hospital-based physicians will be caring for your child there.
