Vaccine Update
Jan 07, 2026
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We want to take a moment to address questions and concerns many families have raised regarding recent discussions and changes at the federal level related to childhood vaccines.
At Cary/Fuquay/Apex Pediatric Centers, the health and safety of your children remain our top priority. As a pediatric practice, we are committed to providing care that is evidence-based and guided by the most current, rigorous scientific research. For this reason, we will continue to follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations for the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule.
The AAP immunization schedule is developed by pediatric experts and is based on decades of research demonstrating vaccine safety, effectiveness, and the importance of protecting children and communities from serious, preventable diseases, disability and death. This schedule remains the standard of care we follow in our office. We will continue to offer all eligible vaccines to our patients, and make recommendations based on this AAP immunization schedule.
At this time, the AHIP (formerly America’s Health Insurance Plan) has stated that all vaccines recommended by the ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) as of September 1, 2025 will still be covered by insurance with no cost-sharing for patients through the end of 2026.
We respect that families may have questions or want to discuss vaccines further. We encourage open, respectful conversations and are always happy to address concerns during your child’s visit.
Thank you for trusting us with your child’s care. We remain committed to partnering with you to work towards the same common goal of keeping your child healthy.
