Cantharidin Treatments
Many of our providers can provide in-office cantharidin treatments for the common viral skin warts known as molluscum. This service is for established patients only.
Molluscum contagiosum is a painless viral skin infection seen most commonly in young to school-age children that can occur anywhere on the body. It can be itchy and can last for several months to years. It is spread through direct contact with other people or personal items. Molluscum is not dangerous and generally will resolve on its own but treatments like cantharidin can help expediate resolution.
Cantharidin treatments involve applying the liquid to molluscum bumps in the office. Over the next week, the molluscum bumps will develop small blisters and then fall off. They do not leave scars or long-term skin changes. Call us today to schedule a visit.
