Mask Policy Update

Dear Parents, We are excited to announce that we will no longer require masking during office visits at any of our three locations.  The option of wearing a mask will still be honored, but not required, and we will no longer provide masks for patients.  If a family prefers to wear a mask, our providers will try to honor this by wearing a mask, too. Throughout the pandemic, Cary Peds has consistently followed the guidance from the CDC in an effort to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and patients alike.  Recently, the CDC revised its guidance based on significant decline in COVID-19 related serious illness, hospitalization, and death rates across the U.S.  As such, we are recognizing these advancements and adjusting our expectations and requirements. Please understand that this plan may change at any time, depending on needs of our practice and the community. With kind regards, The Cary Pediatrics Family

Note to our patients with Medicaid Direct insurance

We are writing to let you know of some changes coming to your child’s Medicaid insurance. All those patients with Medicaid Direct (except those who are in foster care) will have their insurance coverage change to a managed care group, which depends on the county you live in. For example, Wake County uses Alliance, and Harnett County uses Sandhills. These regional plans will start being your child’s main insurance on December 1, 2022. You will be receiving information from NC Medicaid about some upcoming dates and instructions to make sure your child gets assigned appropriately, and you get to choose your child’s doctor. August 15, 2022: Open Enrollment started: you can go online and choose your medical provider. October 15, 2022: If you have not chosen your provider but this point, you are assigned to one (and the computers try to pick the doctor or practice you have seen most often). But it would be best for you to do this yourself. At this moment, Cary, Apex, and Fuquay-Varina Pediatrics has only recently contracted with Alliance (Wake County). We fully expect to participate also with Vaya, and Sandhills plans. If you live in a county that does not work with one of these three plans, we will most likely not be able to be your child’s doctor. Our name is probably not yet listed on the Medicaid website for Alliance, so please be patient. We do plan to be fully participating before the October 15 deadline for auto-enrollment, and will reach out to you all as soon as we have everything in place for the remaining plans. We value the trust you have given our practice and our providers to be the medical home for your children. And we look forward to continuing to do so in the coming years. Cary, Apex, and Fuquay-Varina Pediatrics
